Financial support of City forests of Bratislava

At IBL, we care about more than just building great software — we also want to make a positive difference in the world around us. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Bratislava City Forests, supporting projects that help nature thrive and make our city an even better place to live and relax. We’ve decided to provide financial support for specific ecological and recreational activities that directly improve the quality of life in our capital — from maintaining green spaces to creating areas where people can recharge and connect with nature.

Joining Forces for a Sustainable Forests

We’re excited to be part of a pilot program with Bratislava City Forests, pioneering a new way for other environmentally responsible companies to reduce their environmental footprint directly within the community we call home. For us, it’s more than just offsetting carbon — it’s about taking meaningful steps to improve the environment for all of us.

How Will the Contribution Be Used?

Our support isn’t just symbolic — it’s going directly into hands-on projects that make a real difference in the forest park. Here’s where the funding will help:

• Water retention measures – Foresters are identifying the best spots for water bars, which help keep moisture in the landscape and support the health of the ecosystem.
  
• New gazebos and shelters – Rest areas will be added so visitors can enjoy the forest more comfortably, rain or shine.
  
• Trail and amenity maintenance – Our contribution will help to preserve forest trails, benches, and other public spaces in good shape for everyone to enjoy.
  
• Wildlife habitat creation – We’re supporting efforts to build natural breeding spots that boost biodiversity in the area.
  
• Climate resilience measures – The project will include actions to help the forest adapt to the challenges of a changing climate.
  
• Tracking our impact – Part of the work will focus on calculating the actual carbon benefit, to ensure we’re making a measurable difference.

IBL Employee Volunteer Activities

Our commitment doesn’t stop at financial support. We’re also organizing volunteer events where our colleagues can get directly involved, helping to care for and improve the city's forest park, which we all enjoy. We believe that rolling up our sleeves and spending time in nature not only helps the environment, but also brings us closer together as a team and strengthens the values we stand for.
