Select from available cross-sections in the
Time Cross-Sections box
For forecast data: choose a different model run
(latest run is shown by default)
For observed data: adjust the start time of the
meteogram
For single-level parameters: pick a level (e.g.
temperature at 2m); multi-level data is displayed
with elevation on the Y-axis
Open observation-based meteograms directly from the
observation tooltip (if available)
Switch stations by clicking a different observation
plot on the map
Note: Not all parameters have
cross-sections. Availability depends on what has been
configured on the server.
Routes
Display horizontal cross-sections along custom-defined
routes on the map. Routes are preconfigured as web
services on the connected Visual Weather server.
Open from the left toolbar to display the Routes
dialog
Select a route type in the
Horizontal Cross-Section box (only
preconfigured models are available)
Click on the map to place route points and define
your cross-section
Modify the route:
Add point: Click another
map location or directly on the route line
Move point: Drag an
existing route point to a new position
Delete point: Right-click
the point or remove it from the Coordinates
list
Adjust display settings:
Run: Select a model run
(latest run is used by default)
Forecast time: Choose the
forecast period
Elevation: If available,
pick a level (for multi-level parameters,
elevation is shown on the Y-axis)
Note: Cross-sections must be
preconfigured for each model on the server. They cannot
be changed interactively.
Charts
Spot Charts provide a tabular overview of 24-hour
observations from selected stations (METAR, SYNOP,
BUOY). They are useful for quickly checking recent
values, trends, and full report texts.
Chart types
Current Obs: Latest available
reports (SYNOP, METAR, TAF).
Last 24 METAR/SPECI: Most recent
12–24 METAR observations, depending on station
frequency.
Day Table: 24-hour history with
1-hour steps.
Parameters: Key weather values from
the last 24 observations.
Reports: Text of the last 24
reports.
Online Weather Portfolio
Our portfolio includes a variety of specialized applications. Switch between dedicated workspaces to stay focused — all connected within a unified ecosystem.
OW Impacts
Application for evaluating the impact of weather on your assets.
OW Impacts is a web-based application designed to safeguard operations by evaluating how weather affects
military, aviation, marine, and other assets. The tool provides an instant view of the RAG
(Red–Amber–Green) Impact Matrix, helping operators quickly determine whether activities can be carried out
safely or if preventive measures are required.
How it works
Asset configuration: Users with configurator rights define assets (vehicles, personnel,
buildings, etc.), tasks, and weather thresholds in the Assets dialog.
Real-time monitoring: Operators define activities linked to time, location, and assets.
The system then displays maps and tables showing weather impacts against defined thresholds.
Layout
Map: Shows the default area with topography and borders. Active activities are highlighted
with RAG colours (polygons for areas, circles for spots). Clicking a location opens detailed monitoring.
Action bar: Vertical toolbar on the left for accessing activities, assets, and settings.
Time bar: Horizontal control at the bottom to navigate and check impacts at different times.
Action sidebar
Activities (all users): Define and monitor weather impact on assets during activities.
Assets (configurators only): Manage asset categories, tasks, and thresholds.
OW Routes is a web-based application that allows users to define flight or marine routes
and instantly display horizontal cross-sections along the selected path. This helps
operators assess weather conditions affecting specific routes.
Layout
Map: Default topography with borders, parallels, and meridians. Cross-sections appear once
at least two waypoints are defined.
Action bar: Vertical toolbar on the left for route and threshold settings.
Cross-section area: Panel at the bottom of the screen displaying the weather profile along the route.
Action sidebar
Routes: Choose aviation or marine mode and specify route waypoints to generate cross-sections.
Thresholds: Set visual warning limits. Segments near or above operational thresholds are
highlighted: amber for moderate, red for severe.
OW Routes
Application for displaying cross-sections for specified route.
OW Profiles
Application for displaying upper-air profiles from source(s).
OW Profiles is a web-based application for analyzing atmospheric vertical profiles.
It allows users to visualize and compare profiles from different sources or times,
switch between display types (e.g., Skew-T or Tephigram), view hodographs, and access
tabulated upper-air data. Display settings can be customized, such as showing or hiding
specific lines.
Action sidebar
Profile: Select the data source and display the vertical profile.
Hodograph: View the wind hodograph for the selected dataset.
Diagnostics: Open a panel with tabulated values from upper-air data.
Normand Point: Enable and adjust Normand Point display options.
OW Reports is a web-based application for viewing METAR and TAF reports
from selected stations directly in the browser. It allows users to quickly
access up-to-date aviation weather reports in a structured list.
Quickly search for any station
Organize stations into saved lists
Display current METARs/TAFs for multiple stations at once, with an option to auto-refresh
View up to 48 hours of historical reports for any station
Application for creating, viewing and printing flight folders.
OW Flights is a web-based application for creating, viewing, printing, and emailing flight folders directly from a browser.
It is designed to help aviation personnel manage flight information efficiently and ensure smooth communication of flight details.
Flights section: Displays the departure table with upcoming or scheduled flights from the "home airport".
Allows printing, previewing, or emailing the folder for the selected flight.
User Flights section: Enables logged-in users to create flight folders not listed in the main flight database,
such as ad-hoc helicopter flights. Folders can be created by any portal user, including pilots.
Manage Flight Schedule section: Allows aviation forecasters or administrators to add flights to the Flights section
when the main flight database does not contain all required flights.
OW Forms is a web-based application for creating and issuing products based on predefined templates,
including TAF, SIGMET, public forecast documents, and more.
It streamlines the production of weather information and ensures consistency across outputs.
Automatically fill values from observation or model data
Validate entered values for correct format
Create multiple outputs from the same form (e.g., WMO-style text, HTML page, OpenOffice document, XML file)
Archive all issued versions in a database for later retrieval
Track revisions, corrections, amendments, and cancellations of warnings
OW Forms
Application for editing and issuing form-based products.
Application for displaying received notifications.
